The European and UEFA Super Cup champions are one of the seeded sides in today's draw, which is to be held at Monaco's Foro Grimaldi (18:00 CEST…5:00 PM in Nigeria).
The European and UEFA Super Cup champions will begin their quest to become the first side to successfully defend the Champions League title under the competition's current format on 13 or 14 September, whilst the final will take place on 3 June 2017 at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
In the group stage draw, Real Madrid for example cannot play another Spanish side, nor can they face any of the other clubs from Pot 1. Each of the teams have been placed in the respective pots based on the UEFA club coefficient system, barring Pot 1, which is made up of the winners of the major leagues and the defending European champions.
